WHAT DO I NEED ON MY FIRST DAY OF CLASS?
Make sure to bring a t-shirt, shorts (or yoga pants for women), any equipment deemed fitting for your specific program. We will gladly lend you any equipment necessary for your trial class. Aside from that, bring your energy, enthusiasm and have fun!

WILL I NEED TO PURCHASE ANY EQUIPMENT?
As you join the program that is best for you, Most of the everyday essentials are provided the day you sign up! Program and class specific equipment will be needed such as sparring gear, training weapons, boxing gloves, etc. These can all be purchased through Union Martial Arts and will be available when you become a member.

DO I NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE?
Of course not!! All of our programs and classes are beginner FRIENDLY! We would be honoured if your first steps into martial arts or your next steps into fitness are with us. We welcome all levels of experience and teach accordingly. Our instructors will gladly teach you in detail and ensure you enjoy your training and learn to the highest degree.

DO I NEED TO FILL OUT ANY FORMS?
On your first day you will need to fill out a Union Martial Arts waiver for safety purposes. Please arrive 5-10 mins early to fill out and get ready for your class! Forms can be filled out at front desk. We also ask that new students fill out our new student assessment form to help prepare our team to provide you the best experience possible. Assessment forms can be found on our contact page.

WILL I NEED TO FIGHT ANYBODY?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! We are here to teach you, competition is great but it isn't for everyone and we understand that. Especially on your first day we will make sure you are comfortable and in good hands. Come in and meet friendly team members and have a great workout!

DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK?
Fitness wise? 100% yes! Self-Defense wise? 100% yes! Our team at Union Martial Arts are friendly and very knowledgeable. We understand what works for self defense and what is great for competition. We understand what trains the mind and what trains the body. Martial arts is not magic, we will give you the tools to improve yourself and only teach you what we know best.
